About West End Foreclosure



Located in New Orleans, West End neighborhood of the city is built primarily of a large area of land reclaimed from Lake Pontchartrain in the 1920's. This is a recreational and commercial boating center for seafood and the city is known for its historic and renowned seafood restaurants. In recent years the region has seen major developments in view of the lake condominium complex.

West End area bounded by the Lakeview neighborhood to the south and west of Jefferson parish's Bucktown neighborhood. He lives in two large Yacht, the Orleans Marina and the New Orleans Municipal Harbor.

Two Yacht Clubs, New Orleans Yacht Club and the Southern Yacht Club, with a number of the sea and is surrounded by hunting-related businesses populate the park, marinas and channels.

The area was adjacent to the Oak violated the 17th Canal Street at the time of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the entire Lakeview and be drowned. Big winds and storm surge also destroyed a restaurant and music club built over the lake. As the West End was developed over the sea, do not flood, and became a staging area and the U.S. military for carrying out the National Guard to rescue stranded residents.

West End the most recognizable icon, the New Basin Canal Lighthouse, built in 1830 that was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.

West End nationally recognized resort originally built between 1835 and 1876 and named in the New Lake End. In 1880, when the name was changed to West End, together with the additions of the hotel, restaurant and amusement park built on piers over Lake Pontchartrain.

The City of New Orleans followed and built the railway and harbor facilities, and the streetcar along the New Basin Canal and 17 Canal Street was built in 1921 and the seawall 500 feet into the lake and filled it, and to create a large oak lined West End Park.

West End was the place of popular music in the early days of jazz. Joe "King" Oliver wrote a tune to celebrate the West End Blues in the region, recording the number of Louis Armstrong is one of the most famous jazz recordings of 1920.

The area grew to become known, a large surface area and the historic seafood restaurants, including Bruning which opened in 1859 and operated almost continuously - Hurricane Georges losses prompted the transition from a nearby building in a somewhat better protected from the storm surge, but it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina on the 29th August 2005, along with most other buildings in the area.
