About Kenner Foreclosure



Kenner is a suburb of New Orleans that has a population of 70,517 (census 2000). The city is part of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

History

In 1855, Kenner, the Minor Kenner on land that consisted of three plantation properties that had not been purchased by the Kenner family. At that time, all the land north, which is now Airline Hwy was swampland.

In the period 1915-1931 in New Orleans streetcar line between New Orleans and Kenner. The line was a bulwark between the vision and the vision and the New Orleans Canal Blvd Williams and Jefferson Hwy in Kenner.

Geography

Kenner is located west of New Orleans, Louisiana metropolitan area, Jefferson Parish. Its boundaries are Lake Pontchartrain to the north and the Mississippi River and the unincorporated areas south of Metairie and River Ridge to the east and west of St. Charles Parish.

The population density is 1,798.3 / km (4,659.0 / mi). 27,378 housing units is an average density of 698.2/km (1,808.8 / mi). The racial makeup, that the city is 68.12% White, 22.55% African American, 0.40% Native American, 2.84% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 3.80% other races, and 2.24% in two or more races. 13.62% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

It is 25,652 households, of which 36.3% are under the age of 18 living with them 50.9% are married couples living together, 16.3% are female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% of families are not. 23.2% of all households is 6.1% of the people and is someone who is living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.23.

In the city the population is spread out in 27.3% less than 18-9.4% 18-24, 30.5% 25-44, 23.9% 45 to 64, and 8.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The average age of 34 years. For every 100 females is 92.5 for men. For every 100 females age 18 and over, is 88.4 for men.

The average income for a household in the city is $ 39,946 and the median income for a family is $ 45,866. The average income for men is $ 34,964 versus $ 24,051 for females. Per capita income in the city is $ 19,615. 13.6% of the population and 11.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 18.7% of those under the age of 18 and 12.0% of those aged 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

* Laketown - A park built where Williams Boulevard hits Lake Pontchartrain. It includes a boat pier to begin, pavilions, a jogging / biking path, and a concession stand and bait house.
